1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of REDACT, including any related Discord bot commands, workflows, modules, records, support tools, automation, and community-management functions.

By inviting, accessing, configuring, administering, or using REDACT, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not invite, access, configure, administer, or use REDACT.

If you use REDACT on behalf of a Discord server, community, organization, group, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that server, community, organization, group, or entity to these Terms.

REDACT operates through Discord and is also subject to Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Developer Terms, Developer Policy, API rules, permissions, rate limits, and platform requirements.

3. Age Requirement — 18+ Only

REDACT is intended only for users who are 18 years of age or older. By accessing, inviting, configuring, administering, or using REDACT, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old.

If you are under 18, you may not use REDACT. Server owners and administrators are responsible for ensuring that their communities do not knowingly use REDACT with users under the age of 18.

4. United States Use Only

Use of REDACT is restricted to clients, users, communities, and Discord servers located in the United States. You may not use REDACT if you are located outside the United States.

Vice Network may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to REDACT if it determines that use of the bot occurs outside the United States or creates legal, privacy, compliance, jurisdictional, or operational risk.

5. Service Description and Intended Purpose

REDACT is a Discord-native MILSIM community-management bot built for recreational Arma Reforger gaming communities. REDACT is intended to help Discord communities manage:

  • Applications and onboarding
  • Personnel jackets and progression records
  • Rosters, billets, callsigns, and unit assignments
  • Training records and qualification pipelines
  • Department and unit tickets or contact forms
  • AARs and corrective-action tracking
  • OPORD-style planning and commander's intent
  • Related community-management workflows

REDACT is provided for recreational MILSIM gaming use only. It is not intended for real-world military, law-enforcement, intelligence, emergency-management, governmental, employment, legal, medical, financial, investigative, or private-security use.

6. Recreational MILSIM Gaming Use Only

REDACT is not designed, intended, authorized, or licensed for any real-world tactical, military, law-enforcement, intelligence, emergency-response, public-safety, employment-screening, legal, medical, financial, private-security, or governmental purpose.

Any person, server, organization, or third party who knowingly repurposes REDACT outside its intended recreational MILSIM gaming and community-management purpose does so at their own risk. Vice Network is not responsible for unauthorized repurposing, misuse, or non-recreational use of REDACT.

7. No Affiliation With Real-World Entities

REDACT may allow Discord servers to create, reference, label, or organize fictional, simulated, or roleplay-based units, structures, ranks, billets, departments, commands, qualifications, schools, courses, operational workflows, or community structures.

Any names, structures, units, acronyms, branches, ranks, titles, agencies, military-style organizations, schools, qualifications, or entity references used within REDACT are for fictional, recreational, MILSIM, gaming, organizational, or roleplay purposes only.

Vice Network and REDACT are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, approved by, or officially connected to any real-world military branch, government agency, law-enforcement agency, public authority, private company, game publisher, mod creator, unit, organization, person, or entity referenced by users, servers, templates, roleplay structures, or community configurations.

8. No Endorsement of Server Conduct or Content

The use of REDACT by a Discord server does not mean that Vice Network endorses, approves, supervises, verifies, or accepts responsibility for that server's rules, conduct, roleplay content, moderation decisions, member decisions, reports, discipline, leadership structure, training content, operational planning, community behavior, or user-generated content.

Server owners and administrators are solely responsible for how they configure and use REDACT.

9. User-Generated and Server-Generated Content

REDACT may process, store, organize, display, route, or reference content created by server owners, administrators, staff members, members, applicants, reviewers, evaluators, Game Masters, moderators, or other users.

All user-generated, server-generated, and community-generated content remains the responsibility of the person, server, or community that created, submitted, configured, uploaded, displayed, or used it. Vice Network does not create, endorse, approve, verify, supervise, or assume responsibility for user-generated or server-generated content.

10. Server Owner Responsibilities

Server owners and administrators who install, configure, or use REDACT are responsible for:

  • Ensuring their server complies with Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Developer Terms, Developer Policy, and platform rules
  • Ensuring all REDACT users are at least 18 years old
  • Ensuring all use occurs within the United States
  • Notifying members that REDACT is used in the server
  • Configuring permissions responsibly
  • Limiting access to sensitive workflows
  • Avoiding collection of unnecessary personal information
  • Ensuring REDACT is used only for lawful, authorized, recreational MILSIM gaming and community-management purposes

11. User Responsibilities

Users agree not to:

  • Use REDACT if under 18 or outside the United States
  • Submit false, abusive, harassing, defamatory, discriminatory, or unlawful content
  • Upload or submit another person's private information without authorization
  • Submit passwords, tokens, API keys, protected server credentials, or sensitive secrets
  • Attempt to bypass permissions or access another user's records
  • Reverse engineer, exploit, overload, scrape, or abuse the bot
  • Use REDACT for real-world military, law-enforcement, intelligence, investigative, legal, medical, financial, employment, private-security, or governmental purposes
  • Violate Discord's Terms, Community Guidelines, Developer Terms, Developer Policy, or platform rules
  • Violate applicable local, state, or federal law

12. Real-World Identity and PII Restrictions

Users may not use REDACT to submit, request, collect, store, expose, or publish unnecessary real-world personally identifiable information. REDACT is intended to identify users through Discord User IDs, usernames, guild IDs, role IDs, and approved gaming platform identifiers only.

Server owners and administrators must not require users to provide real names, private addresses, phone numbers, personal email addresses, government identification numbers, or other unnecessary personal information through REDACT.

13. Restricted Member Reports

REDACT may include restricted member report workflows for serious community concerns. These workflows are intended for internal community governance and safety handling only. REDACT is not a law-enforcement, emergency, legal, medical, crisis-response, or mental-health reporting system. For emergencies, contact appropriate emergency services.

14. Discord Platform Dependency

REDACT depends on Discord's API, permissions, interactions, roles, channels, webhooks, and platform availability. Vice Network is not responsible for outages, errors, permission failures, Discord-side changes, Discord enforcement actions, API limitations, or loss of access caused by Discord platform behavior.

15. Legal Process and Required Disclosures

Vice Network may be required to disclose limited information in response to valid legal process, including subpoenas, court orders, arbitration orders, law-enforcement requests, regulatory requests, or other legally enforceable documentation. Any disclosure will be limited, to the extent reasonably possible, to the information specifically required by the valid legal documentation.

16. Suspension or Termination

Vice Network may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to REDACT at any time, with or without notice, if Vice Network determines that a user or server violates these Terms, Discord's Terms, or uses REDACT outside its intended recreational purpose.

17. No Warranty

REDACT is provided "as is" and "as available." Vice Network does not guarantee that REDACT will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every server configuration, free from data loss, or available at all times. You are responsible for your server's configuration, moderation, permissions, records, backups, compliance obligations, and user conduct.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Vice Network, REDACT, and their owners, operators, administrators, contractors, affiliates, and representatives are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or lost-profit damages arising from use of REDACT.

19. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Vice Network, REDACT, and their owners, operators, administrators, contractors, affiliates, and representatives from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use or misuse of REDACT, violation of these Terms, violation of Discord's Terms or applicable law, or user-generated or server-generated content.

20. Dispute Resolution, Arbitration, and Venue

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from or relating to REDACT, these Terms, the Privacy Policy, or use of the bot shall be resolved by mandatory binding arbitration, except where arbitration is prohibited by applicable law. The arbitration shall take place in New York, New York.

The parties agree that any court proceeding to compel arbitration, enforce an arbitration award, or address claims not subject to arbitration shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, including, where jurisdiction exists, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

You waive the right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, collective action, or representative action to the fullest extent permitted by law.

⚠ This section should be reviewed by legal counsel before launch. Arbitration, venue, and class-waiver provisions may be subject to statutory limits or enforceability challenges.

21. Changes to These Terms

Vice Network may update, revise, modify, replace, or remove any part of these Terms of Service at any time, with or without prior notice. Changes are effective when posted. Continued access to or use of REDACT after any change means that you accept the updated Terms.
